The past two weekends in photo review

Two weekends ago, we went to Lake Wawasee to visit my family. We had Monday off (it was Victoria Day in Canada), so it was a great time to go visit. Even though we got a late start (boo to Gary having to work on Saturday), it was still a great trip. Delilah loved being on the lake!

On Monday, my dad took off work (much to my mom's dismay) and spent the day golfing with us. Here he is putting up a storm on the greens! My form actually looks pretty good. Surprisingly, I didn't golf too terribly, either! This past weekend (Memorial Day weekend), Eric, Gwen, Sydney, and Tim came for their first visit. They hung out on the deck,
took their first TTC ride (Tim LOVED it!) Found some fish in a fountain.....(they're sharks :) )And took the trademark picture with the CN Tower in the background. And that was all on their first day!
Day two was a trip to the Toronto Zoo....one of our favorite spots in the city!

This one's for Dino and Jeff!! Go alpacas! And finished off a perfect day with bomb pops.....what a fun weekend!

Back Home Again....

Gary went on a fishing trip last weekend and I was lucky enough to be able to go down to my parents' house for a visit for the first time since Christmas! It's hard for me to believe that I had been away from Huntington and everyone there for so long, but I guess time flies when you're having fun! :)
We were able to get Friday off (thankfully, since things in the automotive world are INSANE right now) and we drove to Gary's parents' house on Thursday night. I was able to get up on Friday, have my morning tea, and then I packed up Delilah and we were on our way back to H-Town!

Since my parents were still working and my sister was en route from Purdue, my first stop was for hot dogs at the B&K with Linda (a good clay factory buddy of mine!!). It was nice to see her for the first time since Thanksgiving. After we ate those wonderful hot dogs, we stopped down at Art Chemical for a surprise visit. I hadn't been in there in a couple years, it was great to stop by and see everyone! Abby came over with baby Nolan once I went to my parents' house. He's so adorable! I got to hold him and feed him--he's such a sweet baby.

Speaking of sweet babies, on Friday night we had a mini-family reunion and I got to meet my cousin Cara's son Aiden. He is so cute, too! It's so amazing to me that all of these people in my life now have kids! :) Having all of the family around was totally fun and gave us some photo ops, as usual.

It was a full weekend....I also had lunch with Abby and Jenny on Saturday and joined Jenny for her birthday bash at her parents' house....it's nice to be an honorary member of the Baker family!

Delilah had a wonderful time playing with her grandpa. I don't know who was more excited to see who, as you can tell by this picture. SOMEONE needs a dog! :)

It was great to be back home! I'm hoping that we'll be able to visit again soon--hopefully for either Memorial Day, our first anniversary (since we get a free room at Swan Lake), or both!! :)

What a Weekend!!

This weekend, Ben, Theresa, Liam, and Ethan came for a visit. They got to town at around 9 on Friday night and we were up early on Saturday to make the little trek to the Toronto Zoo. We had a great time! I'll have to admit that I wasn't expecting the fun I had watching 3 year olds' reactions to animals they haven't seen on a regular basis...it was hilarious! My favorite was when they saw this python

and then one turned around, shivered, and said in a shaky voice while grabbing on to Ben's leg, "oooooh, I'm scared of snakes!"

We saw monkeys....
Ate popsicles Saw giraffes in weird poses...

Watched elephants and tried to imitate them...

Saw cheetahs--my favorite!
Had fun......and then crashed.Delilah loved playing with the boys, too. She absolutely adores them. What a great weekend! We love visitors! If you haven't been here yet, or haven't been in a while, COME SEE US! :)

Delilah's Photo Shoot!

It was nice outside yesterday and I got off work early, so I decided to torture Delilah and take bunches of pictures of her.

To see all the pics, click here. She could be a doggie model, don't you think? :)

I'm SO excited because...

1) The weather has really gotten nicer over the past week.

2) We had a great time Up North last weekend.

3) Dick Eberhart came to town on Monday and went to dinner with us---we love visitors.

4) My brother-in-law Ben stayed with us last night since he was here on business (2 visitors in a week--that is UNHEARD of!)

5) Ben is bringing his family back up on Friday night to spend the weekend with us. It will be their first visit to Toronto! The weather is supposed to be fantastic, so we're going to the Toronto Zoo! The boys will love it and so will I--lots of photo ops!

6) There's a Boston Terrier Meetup on Sunday...I'm hoping we have time to take Delilah to it.

7) I got my eyebrows done this week. It may seem superficial and trivial, but oh boy does it make me feel better!

8) My friend Emma is starting a book club and she invited me to join! I've always wanted to be in a book club....our first meeting is next month, so I need to finish the book I'm reading now. The Soloist by Steve Lopez, it's great--and move on to The Guernsey Literary and the Potato Peel Pie Society. YAY!

9) Speaking of Emma, she and Mat brought their girls over on Monday to meet Delilah. They played outside for 45 minutes and it was so cute to watch them all. I am so in love with my dog, it's pathetic, honestly.

10) It's WEDNESDAY...that means Lost is on tonight AND that we're halfway through the week. Booyah.

11) My one year wedding anniversary is two months away and last night Gary and I started talking about how much fun it will be to go back to Swan Lake and use our free room that we got for booking our wedding there. We want to invite some people to join us for a little party and some golf.

12) I get to go back to Huntington for a visit during the first weekend of May for the first time since Christmas! I think it's the longest time I've ever been away from home, and I'm super excited because I get to meet my cousin's son Aidan for the first time, my best friend Abby's son Nolan, AND I get to help Jenny Baker celebrate her 25th birthday! YAHOO!

Overall, life is good.

Up North = Serenity Now!

You can't beat these views with a stick.

This past weekend was totally fabulous!! Gary and I had Good Friday off, so we left Canada at around 5:30pm on Thursday and finally passed through the Pinecrest Club gates at nearly 2am. The Losees were already there, so that was nice because everything was already opened up and turned on, and the place was actually warm! We had beautiful weather all weekend--we took lots of sunny walks by day and had fun by the campfire at night (we even made Smores and cherry-filled pudgie pies!). The pictures I took weren't all that great, since it's not really green up there yet, so the trip basically turned into a nature-themed photo shoot for my darling Delilah. She's recovering nicely after surgery and has all of her energy--and more--back after only a week. She loved it at the cabin! She went on walks with us through the trails without a leash and did a great job of staying right with us. She got to slop around in the mud and walk around with sticks in her mouth...what more could a dog want? We could tell she was very tired because she snored SUPER loud every night...but that's to be expected when you put in ten miles walking on trails!! Here are some pics from the weekend...check out the pics that show Delilah trying to follow Gary into his tree stand--CLASSIC!!

My only decent deer picture of the weekend (unless you count the skull).....man, I need a zoom lens!
